Ultimately over the last 12 months we have not really used the van and the time to go onto something new has come.
I have made lots of additions to the van in terms of essentials:
Brand new Webasto Air Top 2000 diesel night heater professionally installed (I have only used this on 1 occasion)
Leisure battery with split charge installed under the passenger seat
Brand new Westfalia detachable tow bar (never been used)
Mattress topper & full curtain kit (used once)
Swivel passenger seat.
Service history:
Initially the van was serviced by VW franchise, Robinsons van centre in Lowestoft. There was a total of 10 services up to 94349 miles on 07/01/2010. The service booked is stamped up with these services. There is then a further service at this location in December 2011 at 107733 miles which I have an invoice for. The servicing then continues at Prolek, an independent garage in Diss where an additional 7 services are carried out through to the beginning of 2020. To note, the flywheel and clutch were replaced within this time frame, to be precise, on 18/04/2016.
I purchased the vehicle in June 2021 and have considerable expenditure with invoices. I have mostly used MCC Motor Engineering in Fornham All Saints who are known for knowledge of t4's. I have other invoices, but the important ones are listed below:
:
17/06/2021 (139440) - Cambelt & waterpump using genuine VW parts.
31/03/2022 (140200) - Injectors overhauled at Colchester fuel injection Ltd
12/05/2022 - Replace rear brake calipers, brake pads and master cylinder
26/04/2024 - Oil and filter replacement
28/12/2024 - New battery with 5 year warranty
Vehicle cosmetics:
Overall, the vehicle is in good shape. When I purchased the van, both front wings were replaced with fibreglass ones. I still have the originals behind the garage if you want them. The front wings were all that really let it down, so that is all I replaced. At the beginning of 2025 when I decided I was going to sell the van, I had it MOT'd so I could sell it with a clean certificate. Unfortunately the van failed on some corrosion to the sills. MCC engineering carried out the necessary welding and Baker Body Craft carried out the paint work so that everything looked tidy again. A good job has been done by both. The van enjoys a favourable MOT history of very little in the way of corrosion being mentioned. Anyone is able to view all of the previous MOT's on the government website. You will notice that for many years there was / is an advisory for the following: Offside Integral body structure is deformed but structural rigidity is not significantly reduced sill. To explain this, it is a dent in the sill which still remains.
Overall, this is a very well cared for, low number of owners and full to the brim service history example. It's ready to go and enjoy with no work needed. I am located in Gt Barton, call me if you would like a arrange a viewing.
